Privacy Policy
How CensusFlow handles data and respects your privacy.
Public Data Only
All data displayed on CensusFlow comes from the U.S. Census Bureau’s publicly available LEHD Origin-Destination Employment Statistics (LODES) dataset. LODES data is aggregated and anonymized by the Census Bureau using noise infusion techniques — no individual worker or employer can be identified from the data shown on this site.
Information We Collect
CensusFlow does not require user accounts, logins, or personal information of any kind. We do not collect names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information (PII).
Server Logs
Our hosting infrastructure may record standard server access logs (IP address, browser user-agent, pages requested, timestamps). These logs are used solely for operational monitoring and are not shared with third parties.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how visitors navigate the site. These tools do not use cross-site tracking or advertising cookies.
Cookies
CensusFlow uses only essential cookies required for basic site functionality (e.g., WordPress session cookies if applicable). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Third-Party Services
Pages on CensusFlow load resources from the following third-party services:
- Google Fonts — for web typography (Bebas Neue, IBM Plex Mono, Work Sans)
- MapLibre GL JS / deck.gl — for interactive map rendering (loaded from unpkg CDN)
These services may set their own cookies or collect usage data according to their respective privacy policies.
Data Retention & Contact
Server logs are retained for no more than 90 days. If you have questions about this privacy policy, please reach out via the contact information on our About page.
This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL.
